Something doesn't look right on the chart and seems a bit misleading.
The $ figures in billions aren't adjusted for inflation. You can't compare George W. Bush to LBJ or FDR in actual terms. You have to compare in adjusted terms. As we all know, $50 during FDR's term (1940's) and during LBJ's term (1960's) was worth, and would purchase a whole lot more than $50 will purchase today.
Adjusted for inflation, FDR is the biggest-spending president. Ever. And that's not even factoring WW2 and Iraq into the equation. So, like the chart says, Democrats are the big spenders. On the other hand, Republicans sure can't claim to be the party of small government any longer.
